Community Youth Outreach Worker – Autism

21 hours a week . Main hours of work will be Monday to Friday (days to be confirmed), however there will be some evening and occasional weekend work as required by the organisation.

Salary £23,504 (FTE) pro -rata £14,102 for 21 hrs

Contract until 31st March 2026 (Extension to contract subject to continuation funding)
You can be based from home anywhere in Wiltshire but you will be required to travel across the County of Wiltshire and visit our offices in Semington for regular meetings. Applicants must have use of their own car, for which mileage expenses will be paid.

Are you looking for a new and exciting role? Do you have an understanding of the unique challenges faced by autistic young people, 14-21 years and their families? As part of the on-going development of the Hub we are recruiting a Youth Outreach worker who will work with young people (from the age of 14 years) and their relatives and carers across Wiltshire. This is a new post and we require someone who is willing to support us to develop this area of work.

You will be experienced in supporting and mentoring young people in a personalised way, on a one to one basis and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You will be helping to develop and set up peer support opportunities for 14-17 year olds through the organisation of workshops and leisure opportunities.

You will need to be able to work flexibly, and this will involve planning and prioritising a caseload effectively as well as setting up and then supporting the peer support group. Individual mentoring cases are often complex and require you to use initiative to support our clients.

You will have knowledge and experience of in working in partnership with organisations and services across Wiltshire especially those supporting young people.

This role does not involve personal care.
